Description

CWC21197 - Support For Foster Carers - Quotation Request
City of Wolverhampton Council offers its foster carers independent foster care support because there are occasions where a foster carer would need independent and impartial support from someone other than their Supervising Social Worker. This would occur in cases involving serious allegations, where it is more appropriate for the foster carer to be supported by someone independent. Although there is a general regulatory requirement to provide this support, including support outside office hours, training, advice, and information as appears necessary in the interests of the child placed with them, the detail of what form this support should take is not laid down in statute or regulation.

There are currently approximately 220 internal fostering households in Wolverhampton. The strategic direction for the service is to reduce dependence on costlier externally provided services where possible and to place looked after children in foster care rather than residential care.

The Council is looking to commission specialist support for their foster carers, in particular:

• Legal advice
• Legal expenses
• Arrest and interview expenses
• Accountancy and Tax advice
• Advice on insurance
• Counselling helpline
• Professional development - education advice and support
• Medical and first aid helpline
• Additional benefits for foster carers

Applicants should submit quotations by describing the services they can provide, and provide costings for the service per household, over a three year period - 1 Jan 2022 to 31Dec 2024.

Please refer to RFQ documents.
