Description
Mid Essex Heath Trust has a legal requirement to periodically inspect, test, record and issue results for all electrical installations within the retained estate.
Once the electrical safety testing has been done any 'damage, deterioration, defects and dangerous conditions within the installation' is reported to MEHT and remedial works are undertaken, these works are as defined by the National Electrical Inspection Council into three categories, with the first one requiring essential remedial action:
Category C1: "Danger present. Risk of injury. Immediate remedial action required"
Category C2: "Potentially dangerous-urgent remedial action required"
Category C3: "Improvement recommended"
These resultant remedial repairs must completed, for C1 this rectification needs to be immediate. The risk is that an accident or incident occurs after tests identify a fault but before that fault is remedied
The scope of this contract is to undertake the C1, C2 and C3 repairs, across the retained MEHT Estate, that have been identified as a result of the Fixed Wire Testing.
Please Note Fixed Wire Testing is out of scope of this contract, the successful bidder will be expected to work with the Fixed Wire Testing Contractor to ensure that C1, C2 and C3 repairs are rectified and signed off by MEHT and the Fixed Wire Testing Contractor to ensure the relevant certification can be issued in line with the regulations.(All certification to be provided in electronic format.
The contract will be for up to one year with a cap of £100,000 (subject to budget constraints)
