Description
Refurbishment and remodeling of existing education premises in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The project value to be circa £1.0M to £1.25M overall split into two phases, with the value of the first initial phase approximately £400k. The Phase 1 works are to be completed over the course of the summer holiday period with Practical Completion for the start of the new term in September 2019. The programme for Phase 2 has yet to be finalised however work will need to be completed no later than the start of September 2020.
The project will be let on a Design & Build basis with the contractor responsible for developing design proposals for the Phase 2 elements of work, this will include Architecture, MEP, Structures, Building Regulations compliance and potentially planning guidance. We will also require to the Contractor to commission and warrant a range of defined surveys in relation to the existing building. The work necessary during both phases is potentially to be within a live school environment and include a range of trades, including ICT provision.
Contractors should have experience during the last 3 years of Department for Education (DfE) projects (BAN1 and VER1 forms) with limited time scales and turnkey handover.
It is currently envisaged that tenders will be sought during June 2019 for the works.
