Description

Harker Beck Bridge is a stone arch structure with wing walls, solid spandrel walls and parapets. It carries the A6108 over Harker Beck, near Jervaulx Abbey, 1.5 miles East of East Witton, Richmondshire.

In order to restore the condition of the bridge the masonry needs to be cleared of vegetation and all loose/open joints re-pointing. Various areas of the parapet will need rebuilding due to failure of the mortar.

The abutments and parts of the stone arch needs localised areas re-pointing, and a concrete invert casting as to prevent further scour and rotation occurring to the abutments.
