Description

The University of Southampton has a procurement opportunity for the supply of a laser capture micro-dissection microscope. This tender invites you to submit your response for a solution that conforms to the specification contained within the Invitation to Tender documents.

The University of Southampton is looking to replace its existing Leica AS-LMD Laser Microdissection microscope which is now over 12 years old.

This facility has been key to our translational research enabling us to undertake gene analysis from single cells and multiple cell 'dissectates' cut from tissue sections.

Going forward we wish to expand the scope of use of LMD to include live cell dissection/ selection, microdissection of individual chromosomes and bacteria including those that have been fluorescently tagged, and dissection of hard tissues such as bone.

The system should be flexible and adaptable to new developments as they become available.

Bidders are advised that Invitation to Tender responses will be assessed in line with the following high-level criteria. Further details can be found within the ITT documents (File 2).

Mandatory Requirements: Pass/Fail
Commercial Response: 30%
Qualitative Response: 70%

Qualitative Response Sub-Criteria
Technical Requirements: 80%
Training Requirements: 10%
Previous Experience: 5%
Timelines: 5%

Bidders are advised that the deadline for the receipt of clarifications in respect of this project is Monday 15th August 2016 (12.00 noon).
