Description

Thurrock Council has been awarded funding from Government under the Welcome Back Fund (WBF) to deliver projects within key locations around the borough, with a view to improving business resilience to COVID-19, strengthening the local economy, improving the aesthetic of our towns and instilling confidence in local people that it is safe to visit and shop here. Increased footfall is an output for the project and baseline and ongoing recording is being undertaken.
Communications has been identified as a key function to enable the reopening of our high streets, and as such the council is keen to expand on the current communications surrounding the borough's high streets. This is part of a wider Thurrock Council led promotional campaign "Shop Safe Shop Local" and will support the other WBF work streams including events, temporary planting and artwork over five high street areas Grays, Tilbury, South Ockendon, Stanford le Hope and Corringham.
The marketing and promotion for this project will need a collaborative approach, working with the other suppliers (creative, green and events) across the overall project as well as the central council communications team to generate content for all communication channels.
The key component of the work for this project will include generating and implementing an overarching marketing plan and crucially sub campaign plans for the individual projects to ensure all works under the WBF are connected and collaborative.
The Welcome Back Fund is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
