Description

NHS England, Lancashire & Greater Manchester are the accountable authority for the provision of local GP practice services in the Lancashire & Greater Manchester area and are in the process of reviewing our current Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) contracts. The three CCGs have agreed to take a citywide approach and a decision has been made to re-procure the following existing contracts, with an expectation that they will be delivered from their current premises.

Two NHS Central Manchester CCG contracts, which are delivered from:

Hawthorn Medical Centre, Levenshulme, Manchester, M14 6FS (weighted list size = 4711).
New Bank Medical Practice, Longsight, Manchester, M12 4EY. (weighted list size = 5443).

Four NHS North Manchester CCG contracts, which are delivered from:

City Health Centre, Manchester, M1 1PL (weighted list size = 8707).
Simpson Medical Practice, Moston, Manchester, M40 9NB (weighted list size = 6326).
Charlestown Medical Practice, Blackley, Manchester, M9 7ED (weighted list size = 3896).
Victoria Mill Medical Practice, Platting, Manchester, M40 7LH (weighted list size = 2993).

Weighted list sizes correct at 1.1.16.

The aim of the services is to deliver essential, additional and enhanced services to registered patients of each practice.

It is proposed that the terms and conditions of service, including tariff arrangements, will reflect those contained in General Medical Services (GMS) contracts. The service specifications will be aligned to the strategic direction for Primary Care in Manchester. It is essential that any potential provider can deliver all elements of our Primary Care Transformation agenda, which includes the One Team approach to integrated care through place based commissioning - https://www.centralmanchesterccg.nhs.uk/download.cfm?doc=docm93jijm4n2061.pdf&ver=2565.

North of England Commissioning Support is managing this process for and on behalf of NHS England Lancashire and Greater Manchester (the contracting authority).
