Description

The Authority is looking for a Supplier for the provision of a general schools interaction commission which will engage young people who haven't considered or decided on a career in nursing, alongside those wanting to find out more about the range of nursing careers available. Delivery is to commence in September 2021, with early interaction with the NextGen Nursing team and conclude in April 2022. We are looking for a supplier to provide a culturally competent sponsorship programme to deliver on our commitment to increase the number of BME nurses at the senior level of the profession to a level which is diverse and representative of the broader nursing workforce.

The Getting to Equity Sponsorship Programme draws on tools and techniques that are used in some of the most successful organisations in the world. It brings out into the open the power of connectivity and links it to a group who are most likely to be disconnected from senior and influential roles because of under representation at those levels. At the same time, it engages individuals who have the profile and influence to act as effective sponsors to that group.
Sponsors can help ethnic minority nurses and midwives who, in spite of completing many other programmes and qualifications, have not been able to cross over into senior leadership. The Programme equips them with the knowledge, skills, mindset, and motivation to connect to sponsorship. It utilises a social movement model and so empowers change at an individual level which will stimulate, engage, and drive cultural change.
