Description
Works to be purchased Swindon Borough Council invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the provision of Havelock Square Public realm improvement Works Scope of Works Havelock Square is approximately 1,700 square metres of existing public realm, surrounded on all four sides by retail units. It is a key junction between Havelock Street/Commercial Road, Granville Street surface car park, Davis Place/Wharf Green and Regent Street and also one of the main entranceways into the Brunel Centre Shopping precinct. It is a thoroughfare and significant gateway into the town centre as well as being used as a transient location for the general public to meet. This project will be made up of: Paving works in shop fronts; Paving works in public areas; Replacement of a Sprinkler chamber concrete roof; Relocation of the Brunel Statue - dismantling and re-assembly; Diversion of services; Tree stump grinding; Tree Planting; Installation of tree lighting; Installation of lighting columns; Transportation of materials and plant form storage compound to site; Cutting of paving materials; Handling and installation of large granite stone base seating to statue plinth; Minimising the disruption to the public and stakeholders; Communicating works progress with Stakeholders and Shops; maintaining access for Emergency Services to all areas of the square, the Brunel Centre, surrounding streets and car park during the works.
