Description

The London Borough of Camden is seeking to award a contract for the provision of Perinatal Mental Health Peer Support service The service has been designed to provide a Peer Support service to pregnant and new mothers who are experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression with emotional support from a team of volunteers who may themselves have experienced similar mental health problems. Support will also be offered to women who are at risk of developing perinatal mental health problems in the future, as well as their partners and other family members.

The aim will be to improve mental health and well-being of new parents, support positive relationships between parents and their baby, reduce social isolation of families and increase self-confidence of parents and volunteers
The service will deliver the following:
• 1:1 peer mentoring
• Group support
• Train a group of volunteers

The contract will be for an initial period of 2 years commencing on 1st April 2017 with the option of 2 extensions for 1 year each.
