Description

To establish interest in the below opportunity to be operated for the East of England region.

The preferred bidder will be expected to have proven experience in the delivery of all the elements of work outlined.
1. Ability to deliver high quality training in a focused environment, provide unique peer support and deliver 90% pass rate on first attempt rising to 99% on subsequent OSCE's .
2. The OSCE programme needs to be based on UK pre-registration standards.
3. Demonstrate that international recruits are able to act out scenarios that nurses or midwives are likely to encounter when assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating midwifery/maternity care.
4. Overseas nurses have up to 12 weeks from the date of arrival to the United Kingdom (as stated on their Certificate of Sponsorship) to complete the OSCE. In the run-up to the examination, candidates must be given support and the opportunity to practice and prepare.
5. Provide all the aspects of the midwifery undergraduate course in a concise, "refresher" form.
6. An introduction to the content will be delivered on-line using a digital platform such as LearnWorlds and will be available to the Midwives prior to entry to the UK and for the remainder of their course. It is anticipated that this learning will take around three weeks if undertaken fulltime.
7. On arrival in the UK, international recruits to receive a face to face course that will consist of both lectures, seminar style discussions and practical skills sessions in midwifery skills laboratories:
8. Use virtual reality scenarios in the faculty and have the potential to develop a NIPE scenario and/or Post-Partum Haemorrhage and/or Shoulder Dystocia scenarios to augment the above resource
9. The successful bidder will be expected to ensure that the course is up and running within 6 weeks of notification of outcome of bid process
