Description

Refurbishment and re-modelling of the internal layout of an existing 1FE Primary School, in Sutton Coldfield.

The works include the creation of a new classroom, library & staff areas to enable larger expansion in the future.

Birmingham City Council invites organisations to make an application to be considered for inclusion on a select list of tenderers for internal refurbishment and part external refurbishments of existing single storey building as part of a re-use of an existing education building

The works are to be completed and invoiced in full before the 15th August 2016

Brief Description of Works:

• Removal of selected internal finishes, walls, doors, M&E items that are surplus to requirements or need replacing.
• New internal walls, doors and glass screens to create a Classroom, Library and expansion of supporting staff spaces.
• New sink & units to "wet area" within the proposed classroom.
• New floor finishes where identified.
• New painted finishes to walls, ceilings and carpets to selected floor areas.
• Replacement ceiling tiles where necessary following demolition.
• New DDA compliant reception counter to office
• Creation of new external door from Library.

The Council will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration and evaluation of this tender process, which along with the project scope and specification may also include requirements to provide the following for consideration:-

• Company Profile - Turnover, Organograms, Client Relationships, Sales Pipeline, Professional Body Registration / Memberships
• Trade and Bank references (where appropriate).
• Evidence of acceptable H&S and Quality Management Systems & Practices
• Evidence of insurances to support required levels of indemnity & liability
• Evidence of recent project history working on similar projects in similar environments with supporting case studies and method statements
