Description

This contract is required to install 2no Safety Cameras on Myton Way to capture and enforce red light and speeding traffic offences, to overcome road safety concerns. Cleveland Police are currently unable to enforce red-light traffic offences at this junction, which presents potential road safety concerns. The location has a known history damage-only and casualty accidents, with speeding identified as a key contributing factor. Installing safety cameras to monitor both speed and red-light violations would provide a permanent deterrent, encouraging compliance and enhancing safety for all road users.
The commitment to install safety cameras at this junction has previously been communicated to Ward Councillors for the Ingleby North Ward. Failure to follow through may therefore pose a reputational risk.
