Description
Leicester City Council is looking for a Provider to deliver the following parenting Groupwork:
Event Title: Living with Teenagers
Brief Summary of Service
The planning and delivery of 9 Living with Teenagers parenting groupwork programmes between 1st September 2015 and 31st September 2016 (3 for each academic term - summer, autumn & spring)
The overall aim of the service is to improve parenting capacity by helping parents to gain a better understanding of behaviour and to assist them to make positive changes to their situations by delivering Living with Teenagers.
Living with Teenagers group work parenting programme has been delivered in Leicester City and Leicestershire for approximately 5 years.
Living with Teenagers is a specialist targeted group work programme that is designed for parents and carers who are experiencing behavioural and communication difficulties with teenagers
Specific Aim of the Service
The overall aim of the service is to improve parenting capacity by helping parents to gain a better understanding of behaviour and to assist them to make positive changes to their situations. Specifically the service aims to do this by targeting families identified for Early Help Family Supoprt to:
Increase the confidence of parents and carers
Improve relationships between parent/carers and their children
Improve the conflict levels between parents / carers and their children Decrease levels of parent / carer stress Improve parent / carers understanding of child needs ; Increase the number of parents that feel supported
Detailed specification
The provider is required to plan and deliver 9 Living with Teenagers parenting groups. Each group is 2 hours per week for 7 weeks, and is facilitated by trained facilitators. All participants receive a home visit from the facilitator delivering the group to maximize the engagement process. The facilitator actively engages the parent, identifies any barriers that may inhibit the parent's full participation (including childcare and transport issues), and makes assessments of any needs for the group, e.g. literacy, interpreter, signer.
This visit increases the programme intervention to a minimum of 8 weeks.
Provider is responsible for evidencing outcomes and evaluating the impact of the programme against an agreed indicator set (as specified above).
The provider will be responsible for providing the staff to facilitate these 9 groups. The provider will work with the Leicester City Council Targeted Family Support Service to identify opportunities for jointly facilitating the groups (i.e. one facilitator from each organisation), where this is feasible to do so.
All submissions must be returned via Due North by 14.00hrs on 24rd July 2015 at the very latest
