Description

NHS South of England Procurement Services (SoEPS), acting on behalf of Health Education England (HEE - the Commissioner) are commencing a tender for the provision of Medicine GIM Teaching Programme Support - Health Education England - West Midlands.

The Authority is inviting submissions for "Delivery of the Mandatory Training Programme for General Internal Medicine (GIM) for Higher Specialty Trainees". The intention is for this to be a five (5) year contract commencing on 1st April 2020 until 31st March 2025, subject to continued budgetary funding and satisfactory delivery each year and with an overall content review at the end of year three (3) (in line with curriculum changes and training requirements)

The geographical area, covering some 5,000 square miles, is home to more than 5.3 million people.  The area contains the Coventry, Birmingham, Black Country conurbation and stretches from Leek in Staffordshire in the north to Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire in the south and from Bishops Castle in Shropshire in the west to Rugby in Warwickshire in the east.   
   
The Authority is responsible for delivering specialty and General Practice (GP) medical and dental postgraduate training programmes for approximately 5,000 doctors and dentists across the West Midlands.  Doctors are recruited directly from medical schools into two-year foundation training programmes.  After completing foundation training, doctors can compete for entry into specialty and GP training programmes.    

The contract period of five years will be a maximum value of £210,000 inclusive of VAT.
