Description

The University of Derby makes a difference, impacting individual lives and communities. Our research informs social and economic change around the world and at home. Our talent drives innovation and opportunity.

The University of Derby has an ambition to grow and diversify Research and Knowledge Exchange activities and revenue streams. We are growing our reputation through our research and knowledge exchange activities which are aligned to six academic themes, ranging from pure academic led collaborative research to applied projects working with a wide range of external partners from large organisations such as Rolls Royce to SMEs, and charities. We have a wide range of income types across Research and Knowledge Exchange including Consultancy, Contract Research, Enterprise, Regional Development, Student Mobility and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

The Research Excellence Framework (REF) and the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) evidenced the University's growth with University of Derby being placed in the top 10 for the most improved Universities in REF2021. The Research and Knowledge Exchange portfolio currently consists of 250 live projects across the full range of income types, with 561 proposals submitted this year to date.

The University Is looking for a Research System encompassing four distinct elements. These would ideally be provided as a single system solution but we would welcome proposals from potential providers that can provide one or more of the modular elements.

1. Post Graduate Research Student System
2. Research Ethics Solution
3. Research Management Solution - Pre and Post Award
4. Repository Solution including support for REF including but not limited to Impact.

Respondents may be invited to open dialogue workshops to discuss and demonstrate their potential solution to the University at a time/date to be advised.

The attached Excel sheet details the specifics of the four elements and your proposal should be based on this information.

Please also provide indicative costing to support your proposal.
