Description

The Floating Support Service offers short term support to families and adult residents of Southend experiencing a range of problems that impact on their housing, health and/or financial well-being. The primary remit for the service is the prevention of homelessness. The service ranges from one-off information, advice, guidance, and signposting, to short term interventions up to six weeks and extended support up to six months. Challenges such as the increasing cost of privately rented housing, welfare reforms, and increasing homelessness are creating an environment where housing related support services are crucial.
