Description
1) INTRODUCTION
Our current skate park, built in 2004, is in need of replacement. I attach photographs of our existing arrangement, together with a sketch plan of the dimensions of the concrete pad.
We wish to retain the concrete pad and perimeter fencing and replace the existing ramps with one large structure of your design. The new design will need to be suitable for in line skates, skateboards, scooters and BMX for beginners and improvers.
2) YOU ARE INVITED TO TENDER FOR :
A) Dismantle and remove existing timber framed equipment.
B) Design and build to BS EN 14974:2019:
Option i : a galvanised steel construction with skatelite surface.
Option ii : a galvanised steel construction with plywood or other surface.
Option iii : a concrete 'plaza style' construction.
We will need a concept design and prices (Exclusive of VAT) to support our grant applications.
Please also allow time for a consultation with the users of the facility.
Prior to construction, we will require a detailed drawing of the final design for approval by our playground inspector.
The timing of the contract to be by agreement during summer 2020. This contract finder system insisted I put in specific dates.

7) PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The Project is being lead by Rickinghall Parish Council which will issue the final contract.
The site is owned by the trustees of Rickinghall Village Hall (Charity No. 1031063).
The Project Manager, Charles Greenhough, sits on the village hall committee.
8) NOTES
i) The playing field is open to the public and can be accessed at any time for the purposes of compiling your tender response.
ii)Charles Greenhough, Project Manager, is happy to meet you on site by appointment.
iii) Your tender must detail your plans to ensure the safety of the public and the security of the site during the preparation and implementation.
iv) Your tender must state any caveats, assumptions or exceptions that are appropriate to your bid.
v) Your tender shall provide a FIXED PRICE. Your prices shall not be subject to variation whatsoever. The tenderer is responsible for all necessary survey work that will enable a FIXED PRICE quotation.
vi)The safety and security of equipment and machinery is the responsibility of the Contractor until satisfactory completion of the contract.
vii) During the period of work, site safety will be the sole responsibility of the tenderer.
vii) Your tender shall define a payment schedule and payments must be linked to clear project milestones.
ix) The winning tenderer will be invited to commence work on a to be date agreed with the Project Manager, subject to agreement of terms and conditions including proof of insurance cover.
x) Anticipated Works Programme: Works to be done between dates to be agreed during summer 2020.
xi) On completion, reinstate the project area, fences and adjacent playing field to condition suitable for use by the public.
xii) On completion the tenderer will be required to provide all necessary certificates to comply with current legislation.
