Description

In 2014 a review of Early Years Services was launched with three main criteria
• Improve education and health outcomes
• Reduce child poverty
• Close the inequality gap in terms of education and life chances

As a result of a wide ranging consultation of stakeholders a model has been developed for an Early Years Health and Wellbeing Service which have the key elements of:
• Quality health services from conception to age five
• Quality parenting support services
• Keeping children safe
to achieve our vision to "give every child in Birmingham an equal chance to have the best start in life so they can achieve their full potential".

As a result Birmingham City Council invites expressions of interest for either a single or consortium lead provider to bring an innovative approach to the provision of these services.

Birmingham is a young and super-diverse city and the service provider(s) must demonstrate excellence in inclusion and cultural competence to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.

Key documents informing this process are available at: www.birmingham.gov.uk/earlyyearsreview

The annual value is in the region of £34m but will be dependent on public sector finance constraints. The contract will for a period of five years with an option to extend for a further two years.

Please note this procurement will be undertaken as a competitive procedure with negotiations.
