Description
Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust ( SABP ) are seeking to expand crisis care and support for people out of hours. For some people there is an identified need to provide support in the region, in a safe place away from their home overnight (or for a few days) to enable them to recover from a crisis and avoid an inpatient admission.
Indicative aims and objectives of this service are as follows :
Aims:
• Enabling recovery from a mental health crisis
Objectives:
• A suitable, non-medical alternative to hospital admission for identified people experiencing a mental health crisis
• Short stay crisis/respite provision for individuals who need a bed away from their home environment.
• Emotional and practical support to enable people to manage and resolve their own periods of crisis including utilising support structures and facilities available in the community.
The contract duration will initially be 9 months, with options for extensions of up to 2 years.
This Opportunity Notice gives sufficient information for potential providers to decide whether to seek full procurement documentation.
NHS Commercial Solutions are working with SABP in the procurement of these services.
