Description

Sheffield City Council (SCC) is seeking quotations to appoint several Driving Schools under a framework agreement. This agreement will allow SCC to offer driving lessons to existing and future Estate Officer Apprentices for the contract period of 2 years, with the scope to extend for a further 12 months if required.

The appointed Driving Instructors will be responsible for tutoring the process to the Apprentices who require their driving licence to fulfil their employment with Sheffield City Council. They must educate the learner on how to drive safely, by developing their skills needed to pass the driving theory and practical examinations. You would be expected to adapt your teaching plan according to individual's skills and knowledge.

As a Driving Instructor, we would like you to perform the following tasks:
• Teaching theory about driving.
• Supervising practical examinations.
• Advising about skills to be developed.
• Monitoring progresses.
• Explaining driving techniques.

We envisage for the learner to pass their driving test after no more than 3 attempts. After the 3rd attempt, it will be the learner's responsibility to continue with the lessons on their own accord if they wish to do so. Regular updates are to be provided by the driving instructor on the progress of the learner, any issues that arise with attendance, commitment, performance should all be raised with the contact point for the learner from the first instance. The learner will be expected to book and pay for the booking of their driving test, Sheffield City Council will reimburse these costs to the learner on an individual basis via the iManage system, this is the same arrangement for driving theory test.
