Description
The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames is conducting this initial market engagement to test and inform an innovative approach to dementia care provision in the borough.
Demand for bed-based dementia nursing and residential services will continue to increase. The Council intends to enter the market for these services, partnering with an experienced provider of bed-based care to create a new care facility in Kingston.
Expressions of interest are sought from forward thinking potential providers of:

Management and delivery of specialist nursing and care services to operate the home.
The home will serve patients requiring preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative nursing care services for non-acute, long-term conditions. with higher level support needs including dementia and challenging behaviour.
The purpose of the initial market consultation is to orient prospective providers to the opportunity and for the Council to engage in dialogue on the most effective partnership arrangements to achieve the Council's objectives.
The planned home will:
• Provide world leading dementia care services for up to 100 older people at a time of unprecedented demand for public and privately funded bed-based care.
• Be owned by the Council and operated in partnership with a provider of nursing and care services.
• Be a base for development of innovative outreach, training and development services
• Provide risk and reward incentives for the Council and its partners to develop and expand services to other public and private sector markets.
