Description

The service will provide an impartial information, advice and support services to children with Special Education Needs and Disabilities and their families (SENDIASS) as well as the publication and management of a Local Offer website, setting out in one place information about provision they expect to be available across education, health and social care for children and young people in their area who have special educational needs or disabilities, including those who do not have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), in order to fulfil the statutory duty. In addition, short term key-working for families with SEND related needs that require coordinated support over and above what is available via the main SENDIASS service will be provided.

The contract period for the Service will be for a duration of 2 years commencing on 1 April 2022 and ending on 31 March 2024, with the option to extend for a period of up to a further 24 months.

The annual value of the contract is proposed at £220,000. This level of funding is less than the current contract value as a result of the removal of the provision of resilience and independence workshops, the delivery of which will be explored under separate arrangements.

In addition, the successful provider will be expected to utilise digital technology, where possible, to deliver efficiencies wherever possible, e.g. virtual meetings where appropriate and encouragement to utilise online help. It is anticipated that these changes will allow the service to continue to deliver the full scope of the Service Specification.
