Description

The Parish Council is looking for a company to design and create a garden to include a path around the perimeter - including an opening path into Turners Court - leading to a central feature incorporating a memorial area and gardens with foundations for a memorial plaque. The tender will also contain footings for benches with an attractive planting scheme incorporating trees and shrubs. The tender does not include the memorial stone.

Your proposal will include detailed concept design drawings, costings, company experience, and examples of previous projects of this nature.
Successful companies will be judged on experience, price, and design, and it is intended that a shortlist will be invited to present to full Parish Council shortly after the tender return date.

Documents available to support your tender:

• Photograph of the green space, detailing pathing areas and potential bench markings.

The completed tender must be submitted by 12noon on Thursday 18th February. The Tender must be delivered to Wootton Community & Sports Centre in a sealed envelope marked TENDER and for the attention of the Parish Clerk, Mrs Tina Charteress. Tenders received by email will not be considered.

Additional text

Wootton Parish Council has acquired a piece of land adjacent to a housing estate at Simpson Manor, Wootton, Northampton. Simpson Manor stands on the site of Quebec Barracks built in 1939 for the Northamptonshire Regiment and named after the Battle of Quebec in 1759. The Regiment moved out in 1959 following their merger with the Royal Lincolnshire Regiment. In 1960 the Royal Pioneer Corp moved into the barracks, renamed Simpson Barracks. The Corps remained in the barracks until 1993 when they were amalgamated with other units to form the Royal Logistical Corps. The site was then re-developed for housing and this piece of land designated for open space serving the development.

Wootton Parish Council would like to create a Memorial Garden commemorating the Regiment.
