Description

Detailed Requirements
The aim of the Request for Quotation is to ensure that HEE is able to put in place a service that is cost effective and efficient in supporting its organisational goals whilst ensuring value for money.
HEE WM proposes to create a suite of Faculty Development opportunities to embed coaching and mentoring skills more widely in educational supervision. These range from an introductory in-house programme linked to leadership development, an externally provided short programme including time to practice basic skills and models, to a longer programme leading to a recognised qualification in Coaching and Mentoring (such as ILM 5). The requirements below refer to the short programme and formal qualification programme.
EE requires the provision of a short programme of Coaching and Mentoring for Postgraduate Medical Educators and Educational Supervisor to the specification and scope as outlined below:
The primary objectives of this procurement are as a minimum:

Expected requirements:
Short Programme
Enrolment and Duration of the Programme
• The programme would enrol up to 24 participants
• Notice of start dates to be given at least 8 weeks in advance (to comply with NHS provider requirements for study leave notice)
• To be completed within 4 weeks after start of programme

Qualification Programme
The qualification provided must be a recognised award to broadly the standard expected of an ILM 5 certificate coach. It may be the ILM 5 certificate in Coaching and Mentoring, a Masters Degree or a Post Graduate Certificate.
The participants will all be registered Medical Practitioners who will have a first degree and many will already have completed a Masters programme or higher, irrespective all would be expected to have the academic ability to work at level 8.

Enrolment and Duration of Programme
• The programme would enrol up to 12 participants
• Notice of start dates to be given at least 8 weeks in advance (to comply with NHS provider requirements for study leave notice)
• Completion of the academic / taught parts of the programme would be delivered within 6 months of enrolment. Time to final submission and award would depend on the design of the programme as access to Coachees can be a rate limiting step for NHS Coaches. It is anticipated that academic awards would be completed within a year and for ILM 5 some further flexibility to complete the assignments may be desirable
