Description

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust are looking for EOI in the following:- Authorised Fire Engineer
The Trust provide wide-ranging NHS care for people in the community, in a range of settings including people's own homes; nursing homes; health clinics; community hospitals; minor injury units; a walk-in centre and in mobile units.
We are one of the largest NHS community health providers in England, serving a population of about 1.4 million. We employ over 5,500 staff, including doctors, community nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians and many other healthcare professionals. KCHFT have 9 Community Hospitals with a bed capacity of approximately 20 beds per hospital.
Background
As directed by Health Technical Memorandum 05-01, Managing healthcare fire safety, KCHFT has a dedicated Fire Safety Group. The group will be led by KCHFT's Fire Safety Manager with the support of an external authorising fire engineer (AE).
In Scope (based on a 3 year contract):-
Initial high level compliance review to be reported to the first Fire Safety Group meeting within the first 3 months of contract start:-
Current Policies and Procedures and in house training review (desktop review)
PPM shortfalls review (desktop review based at a KCHFT site)
Assurance that the right resources are in place and recommendations if not.
Current levels of compliance systems for Fire safety to include recommendations

Ongoing tasks:-
• Annual review of 2 fire risk assessments
• Annual review of PPMs (based at a KCHFT site) observing contractors and reviewing paperwork
• Annual risk-based report on findings above with executive conclusions & recommendations. 1 day preparation and 1 day presenting
• Annual review of KCHFT Authorised Persons.
• Free to service technical support by telephone and email (detailed document checks and other works requiring attendance over 1 hour to be charged at agreed rate).
• Adhoc advice/attendance on specific projects as and when required to be charged at daily rate/half day rate as appropriate
Attendance at Fire Safety Group (FSG) Meetings
The Trust would require attendance at the FSG Meetings based on the following structure (via Teams):-
Year 1 - Month 3, 6 and 12
Year 2 - Month 6 and 12
Year 3 - Month 6 and 12

Contract
3 year contract initially with the option to extend by 2 x 12 month tranches.
