Description

The Contractor will be requested to provide the Employer with Passive Fire Safety works / services including but not limited to the following areas:
• Compartmentalise a building through use of fire-resistance rated walls and floors, keeping the fire from spreading quickly and providing time to escape for people in the building.
• Fire Doors help compartmentalize a building, while giving its occupants means of escape.
• Fire Walls and Floors to separate the building into compartments to stop the spread of fire/smoke from room to room.
• Fire Compartmentalisation including fire stopping replacement, supply, and installation of the above.
• Remedial works ordered from Fire Risk Assessment report recommendations.

The Employer requires the use of third-party certified products which have been independently certified by a UKAS accredited organisation.
This provides the following required layers of protection.
• A manufacturers declaration of performance.
• An original test report.
• An effective quality management system in the factory to ensure quality of manufacture.
• A regular and independent third-party factory audit.
• Product support identification.
• Random audit and testing in a furnace
• Detailed parameters of usage.
• Control of cascaded evidence.
• Standardised installation and maintenance information.
• Full traceability via permanent labelling or markings.
The Employer requires third party accredited and competent installers to ensure that the tested and approved materials are competently installed in accordance with manufacturers test evidence and documentation.
The third-party certified Contractors will be required to label and verify the installations specification and prove conformance.
Regarding fire door installations the Contractor is required to be a member of a relevant fire door installation certification scheme such as FIRAS/BM TRADA. (Other schemes are available). New fire door installations require certification to prove manufacturers and installation conformance. It i
