Description

Summary:
Review of climate change adaptation activity and progress within the business and local government sectors in England, to feed into the Adaptation Sub-Committee's statutory report to Parliament in June 2017.

Description:
The Adaptation Sub-Committee of the Committee on Climate Change were established under the Climate Change Act 2008 as independent advisors to the Government with a duty to report to Parliament on the progress being made to prepare the country for climate change. The ASC's next report to Parliament is due in June 2017. To feed into this the ASC is looking for an experienced analyst(s) to work very closely with the team and help write the business and local government chapters of the 2017 report. The task will be to gather and assess evidence of progress for each of the 'adaptation priorities' and local authority functions identified for these sectors within the ASC's last report to Parliament in 2015 ("Progress in preparing for climate change"). The role will also involve engagement with a range of relevant stakeholders to gather views and test findings. The final output will be draft sections and exhibits for the final report together with an updated 'dashboard' of metrics and indicators for the business sector used to track changes in vulnerability to climate change impacts over time.
