Description

The new Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent pathway for the Emotional Health and Wellbeing of children and young people will focus on an asset based approach, ensuring accessible information and support is available at all levels i.e., early intervention, early identification, prevention and intervention.
The aim is to ensure improved environments so that children, young people and families can thrive via:
• Increased Identification of children and young people with early indicators of distress and risk
• Reduction in mild to moderate distress
• Reduction in the development of moderate to severe distress
• Reduction in life long distress

Lot 1-The Emotional Health and Wellbeing (Tier 2) "Getting Help" provision will offer a flexible approach to early intervention and prevention work with Children and Young People aged 5-18 who have mild to moderate mental health distress. The provision will deliver appropriate flexible support based on individual needs and it is the expectation that the provider will utilise a broad spectrum of holistic therapies and support to promote asset based, positive outcomes and preventative support. This will also include a clear preventative and awareness element of support available to teachers, parents and carers. It will be available in a range of non-clinical, community settings including schools and will assist children and young people to develop the emotional wellness tools to help manage and maintain their emotional wellbeing and to build their resilience.

Lot 2-The Emotional Health and Wellbeing specialist (Tier 3)"Getting Risk support" therapeutic service for Looked After Children will deliver specific interventions with persistent and ongoing psychological and emotional health needs relating to their pre and post-entry to care experiences. This will include a holistic health support and advice service for Looked After Children adopted children and care leavers, including links with community based activities, training and support for foster carers and adoptive parents to support the child or young person to achieve and maintain optimum physical and mental health and support for care leavers (aged 18-25) who have ongoing health needs.
