Description

Dudley MBC is seeking delivery of a programme of Theatre in Education performances (average length of performance 20 minutes) and workshops to support Dudley education settings with their Relationship, Sex, Health & Education (RSHE) curriculum provision and safeguarding. The offer should accommodate Primary phase, Secondary phase and 16+ age-appropriate pieces.
Education settings will be able to choose and book from a menu of age-appropriate performances that cover the following topics:
• Anti-bullying
• Puberty
• Sexual health /contraception
• Healthy relationships / consent
• Child exploitation including both child sexual exploitation and child criminal exploitation
• Misogyny
• Child abuse
• Domestic and teenage partner abuse
• Staying safe on and offline
• Mental wellbeing
• Knife crime / youth crime /county lines

Each live performance will be followed by smaller workshops that allow further questioning and discussion on the topic covered.
All performances and workshops will:

• be well researched, relevant, age appropriate, trauma-informed and participatory
• provide an opportunity for learners to interact with the characters and have a question & answer discussion
• support Dudley education settings with their RSHE curriculum and safeguarding work
• signpost learners to local and national support and guidance
• link directly with the Department of Education's guidance for RSHE
• link with the Dudley Council's health & wellbeing priorities
• support all children and young people to have healthy, happy and safe lives
•be in a variety of formats to accommodate children and young people with a range of needs and abilities • be flexible in their delivery formats to accommodate the time and/or space the setting can provide • have clear learning objectives and evidence of the impact on both the learner's and teachers' knowledge and skills around the topic(s)
•be run by actor / facilitators who have been trained in classroom management, acting, safeguarding procedures, and must have relevant DBS check in place
• be supported by pre and post lesson plans through the provider's website so that teachers/staff can discuss the themes/issues highlighted during the performances and workshops
• be pre-approved by the Commissioner (Council) before being delivered in education settings for quality assurance purposes
