Description
Greater Preston Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Chorley and South Ribble CCG are commissioning a new service for a Community Crisis Café.
The café should be situated within the community it serves, and to ensure it becomes a community asset should not be situated within a statutory building.
The service should be developed and evaluated by people who use its services and the local community, to ensure it becomes a valuable asset that enables people to recover from their episode of mental ill health and encourages resilience in the local population;
• To provide a safe, welcoming and comfortable service away from a clinical environment for people in crisis, and those seeking to prevent the onset of a crisis.
• To meet the needs of individuals experiencing acute emotional distress associated with a mental health problem (which may or may not have been given a formal diagnosis) with the aim of drawing on strengths, resilience and coping mechanisms to reduce the need to use crisis services in the future.
• To support individuals to reduce their immediate crisis and anxiety, and to formulate a safety plan, drawing on strengths, resilience and coping mechanisms to reduce the need to use crisis services in the future.
• To offer a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) approach to individual need, to ensure needs are responded to by appropriate services to further help the individual to build resilience. It is expected that there will be a full range of services provided at The Haven by a full range of organisations through a multi-agency approach.
The Service is expected to be open from 11.00-23.00 (Monday-Friday) and 12.00-23.00 (weekends and bank holidays). The Service will be open every day of the year.
The contract is for 3 years initially (with the option to extend for a further 2 years). The estimated maximum value of the contract will be £350,000 a year. It is expected that within year 2 of the contract the social enterprise will be operational in a shadow form, and within year 3 fully operational.
The successful provider will be expected to work closely with the CCGs to identify suitable premises to deliver the service within the CCGs footprint. There will be up to an additional £50,000 per year allocated by the CCGs to fund the premises.
More information will be available within the tender documentation.
The service will be commissioned via an open procurement process advertised to all providers which is proportionate to the value and complexity of the service and contract. To find out more or to respond to this opportunity please visit the NHS Midlands and Lancashire CSU e-sourcing portal at https://mlcsu.bravosolution.co.uk/web/login.shtml.
