Description
SPECIFICATION FOR REPAIRS TO RUNHAM VILLAGE HALL
Mautby Parish Council seeks sealed tenders for repairs to the Village Hall roof. Due to a sustained period of water ingress into the roof area, and a section of collapsed ceiling, the Council requires remedial repairs to be undertaken.
Scope of Works
Remove suspended ceiling and dispose of waste and insulation
Remove owl faeces and twigs/debris from roof space and dispose
Remove lath and plaster / plasterboard ceiling and dispose
Recommended works to the gable ends, felt, purlings, rafters etc
Seal the building to prevent further entry of wildlife into the roof space
Install new insulated plasterboard ceiling and insulation in the roof space
Decorate new ceiling
Electrical works to realign the lighting to new ceiling, considering new energy efficient lighting
Optional quote to replace heaters with energy efficient heating (the Council is considering central heating, but would welcome pricing for alternative forms of heating)
Exterior pointing and flashing as required
Assessment of the safety of the Bell Tower and removal if required
Leave site clean and tidy on completion.
The price provided should cover all ancillary costs including scaffolding and removal of debris and arisings.
A budget figure should be included for contingency in the event that certain elements may need replacing on further inspection. The Council needs to understand all known and potential costs.
All work should be in accordance with current good practice and any relevant standards, for example BS7671 for electrical works.
Site Visit
Contractors are invited to make an appointment to visit the Village Hall between Tuesday 3rd and Friday 6th January 2023. Tenders will only be considered from contractors who have attended site and made an assessment of the work required.
Tender Information
The tender must include the following information:
Scope of recommended works
Pricing broken down into the individual areas mentioned above
Confirmation of public liability insurance held, with a copy of certificate; and general risk assessment.
Outline of any potential unknown areas, and an advised contingency budget to allow should those works arise.
Confirmation of lead time for the start of works.
Deadline
The deadline for tenders is 5pm Friday 20th January 2023. These must be sealed bids sent to Jubilee Farm, Fleggburgh Road, Rollesby, Norfolk NR29 5HH and clearly marked 'RUNHAM VILLAGE HALL TENDERS'. These will be opened at the Parish Council meeting on Wednesday 25th January 2023 at 7.30pm.
The Council does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
