Description

BFI London Film Festival (LFF) is the UK's largest film festival and a major international film event.

The Festival introduces the finest new British and international films, series and immersive art works to London and UK-wide audiences, attracts significant international industry participation which shines a spotlight on UK talent. Each year the festival shows work from over 70 countries, representing a variety of languages, genres and formal styles, with presentations ranging from intimate screenings and installations to major red carpet productions. The artistic programme is complemented by a rich range of talks and events for public and industry audiences.

1 Gala Venue Cinema Build and Fit Out
Since 2021, the BFI London Film Festival has presented its Gala programme at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall. The festival installs an 18m screen, state-of-the-art sound and projectors, to transform the auditorium into a screening venue for the 12 days of the festival. Project Management of the installation of screen, draping, sound and broader fit-out are all within the scope of this contract. Projection of screenings throughout the festival is managed by BFI in-house technical teams.

2 Red Carpet Cinema and Event Production
Across the duration of the 12 days, the festival hosts between 22 and 26 red carpet premieres at our partner gala venue, Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, and occasionally, broader festival venues. The red carpet events feature UK, European and World premieres with on-stage A-list talent introductions. A number of the red carpet premieres are sponsored or in association with the festival's partners, including principle partner American Express.
The scale of the events vary in size and activity. Traditionally, Opening, Closing and Sponsored Gala events host larger red carpet premieres with sizeable A-list talent parties and often with the use of CCTV, bespoke theming and production builds, and UK-wide satellite broadcasts.
The red carpet events are high profile media events, with an audience of up to 2300, comprising filmmakers, industry professionals, talent, and the public. Red carpet media management forms the basis of a separate agency contract.
Post-Screening receptions take place for Opening, Closing and Sponsored Galas at a landmark London Venue. These receptions do not form part of this contract scope.
