Description

Amber Valley Borough Council (AVBC) following a Climate Change Emergency declaration in July 2019- is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced consultancy to undertake and produce a carbon reduction management programme that will help AVBC achieve its goal of carbon neutrality by 2030.
The Council require a proven robust carbon pathway towards reducing its carbon footprint . This will involve identifying the current carbon footprint -which will be used as a baseline to measure progress going forward. All outputs/outcomes will need to be professional validated in accordance with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.
To assist and help provide some context in terms of size of the Council, a copy of an earlier Carbon Management Programme undertaken in 2010 will be provided. The consultant appointed will be expected to work within and alongside various sections/teams that maybe relevant and will report to the Buildings & Open Spaces Manger .
Quotes will need to identify a breakdown/subtotal of fees across the scopes as detailed below:
Scope 1- activities e.g. direct cost from the organisations owned and controlled assets
Scope 2 -purchased electricity ,Heat and Steam (as appropriate)
Scope 3 - Purchased goods and services which could include :
Business travel
Employee commuting
Waste disposal
Use of sold products
Transportation and distribution (up- and downstream)
Investments
Leased assets and franchises
At least two Referees and at least two examples of similar works undertaken will be required to help the Council make an informed appointment as well as a statement on one side of A4 as to what added value working with your organisation will bring.
