Description

Wigan Council wish to engage a main contractor to deliver enabling works at the former Wigan Civic Centre, a 1960s four-storey brutalist concrete building.

broadly the enabling works comprise:

• Removal of all asbestos from the building
• Full internal strip out
• Removal of external paint and apparatus
• Internal paint removal to concrete soffit, columns and walls
• Creation of structural openings for feature reception and access to roof
• Concrete repairs
• Installation of temporary fire detection system and emergency lighting
