Description
A single stage D&B Contractor is being sought through a restricted OJEU procurement process to undertake detail design and construction of the new leisure hub at Bulmershe site. The Council is looking to submit a full planning application for the proposed scheme by end of March 2018 and the demolition of the existing facilities will be undertaken (by a third party) during Summer 2018.
The proposed development will include:
- 6 Lane 25m Swimming Pool to Sports England standards,
- Teaching Pool with movable floor to Sports England standards,
- 75 Station Fitness Suite with a range of fitness equipment,
- 2 Studios for a varied range of fitness classes and accessible gym/classes,
- 4 Court Sports Hall,
- Viewing area from reception into the pool, with cafe supplying food and drink,
- Accessible and inclusive facilities - Live Well gym, wet, sports and gym change, WCs, 2 no.s of lifts and parking,
- Enhanced access provision (vehicle, pedestrian and cycle) from Woodlands Avenue.
The D&B Contractor will be required to develop the detail design from planning stage, in consultation with the relevant stakeholders and construct the completed facilities, including relevant external works and access improvement works, by Spring 2020.
The Operator for the new premises has been appointed.
The facility must be ready for public use by 1st July 2020. The contract includes a 12-month defects period, resulting in a contract end date of 30th June 2021.
