Description
We are starting to gather information to help shape the procurement of a contract to deliver our Experts by Experience programme which is being competitively re-tendered for delivery from 2020 onwards.
Organisations who register an interest to take part in this procurement will also have an opportunity to share information with us. This will be used to inform the development of a new invitation to tender, contracting model and procurement procedure.
Register an interest in the procurement
Organisations who would like to register an interest in the procurement, including the option provide us with information and to collaborate with other organisations, should contact commercialcontracts@cqc.org.uk. providing a contact name and e-mail address and indicating whether you just want to register an interest in the procurement or whether you also want to participate in the exercise to provide additional information. Those that indicate that they want to take part in the exercise to provide information will be sent the relevant documents by e-mail.
Background
Experts by Experience are people who have personal experience of the services we regulate, either directly or as carers.
During inspections, Experts by Experience speak with people using services and their family or organisations that support them. They may also watch how the service is delivered and speak to staff. Their findings are used to support inspectors' judgements on services and may be included in inspection reports.
We want Experts by Experience to provide three types of support:
• Inspection - support to site visits and telephone calls
• Monitor and Insight - support gathering local and national information from the public. This will include special reviews and investigations as well as work raising public awareness of CQC
• Co-production - support to policy and guidance development and delivery of CQC staff training
More information will be made available upon registration.
