Description
The Short Break Individual Payments (SBIP) service looks to increase the social opportunities available to disabled children, young people and their families.
The service will assist disabled children, young people and their families in Cheshire West and Chester to access services and activities.
The service will enable young people to make friends, participate in events and take a short break from their families. This gives disabled children and young people the same opportunities to develop and fulfil their potential as all other children.
The service provides a payment to enable disabled children, young people and their families to have the monies to overcome the barriers to accessing a short break.
The SBIP can also provide a valuable opportunity for parents/carers to have a break from their caring responsibilities.
This service is open to disabled children and young people who have high rate or mid rate Disability Living Allowance (changing to Personal lndependence Payment).
