Description

County Durham & Darlington NHS Trust (CDDFT) has embarked on a formal procurement of an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solution to replace a significant number of legacy systems. The evidence is that the majority of programme failures are linked to poor benefits realisation data, mis-matches in delivery and customer expectations and unclear SRO responsibilities. As this will be one of the most significant change programmes that CDDFT will undertake in the foreseeable future, the Trust wishes to explore the option to determine the confidence levels in the delivery of the EPR Programme through evidence based findings and recommendations, which have been confirmed by appropriate external sources.

With the above in mind, the EPR Programme Board has analysed the potential risks to the Programme and reviewed the options for external assurance and has confirmed that it wishes to consider external assurance support in respect of:

• Organisational readiness
• Pre Go Live Readiness including Benefits Realisation Testing
