Description

Student Accommodation offers over 5000 bedspaces to students within three student villages - The Vale, Pritchatts Park and Selly Oak. The accommodation is occupied on 42 week contracts however 50 week contracts apply on a limited number of sites with a conference provision in some areas over the summer once the students have vacated.
The University of Birmingham wishes to enter into a Framework Agreement to provide
cleaning services for:-
o (Lot 1) Annual deep cleaning of kitchens in students' residences during summer vacation.
o (Lot 2) Annual carpet, upholstery and curtain cleaning in students' residences during summer vacations.
o (Lot 3) There may be an additional requirement for cleaning of Accommodation bedrooms, bathrooms and hallways during the summer vacation.
o (Lot 4) (i) Responding to emergency call out 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year; and (ii) any cleaning duties that cannot be undertaken by the in-house cleaning team throughout the year.
Suppliers applying for Lots 3 and 4 must also apply for Lot 1 and/or Lot 2. It is envisaged that between 3 and 5 contractors will be awarded contracts
The overriding purpose and objective of the Contract is that the successful Supplier/s will work with the University to maintain the highest possible standards of reliability by operating an effective cleaning service, with contractually binding performance levels in order to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction.
The services will mainly be required in the summer vacations at student residences and a priority will be a 'quick turn round' service as rooms are used for conferencing at these times. Services will also be required at Student Accommodation and possibly other areas of the University on an ad hoc basis throughout the year
