Description

The Faculty of Medical Sciences at Newcastle University has a well-established Core Scientific Research Facility model. The BioScreening Core Facility established over 10 years ago at the Campus for Ageing and Vitality is dedicated to the provision of services in the areas of sample processing, biomarker quantitative assays validation and assessment.
For translational and clinical researchers, it establishes a much-needed connectivity with shared NHS clinical research facilities and it is often involved in clinical trials.
We are looking to incorporate to our facility an automated liquid handling workstation to facilitate the seamless processing of samples for our testing applications and to increase the throughput in the context of large sample collections. This purchase is subject to funding approval by an MRC Mid-range Equipment grant.
The scope of this contract is for the supply, delivery and installation of the equipment detailed in Section 3.1 Technical Specification to the University, including 4 years of maintenance and servicing cover to all components and to begin once the 12-month warranty period has expired, all training necessary for safe and reliable operation of the system and a complete set of operating and maintenance documents.
