Description

NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is seeking expressions of interests from potential providers of a Sensory Process Disorder Specialist Assessment and Support service for Children & Young People within the city for a pilot of 18 months.

The service will provide a therapy safe, high quality, dignified, and cost effective person and parent centered service for those identified with complex sensory processing difficulties.

The service will provide comprehensive assessment, interventions through support planning (e.g. Sensory Diets/EHC plans), and evidence based support to children and young people which is compliant with relevant NHS and Royal College of Occupational Therapy guidelines for the assessment and support of sensory processing disorder.

The service will be required to:

- Provide expert clinical knowledge, diagnosis and skills in the assessment and providing appropriate interventions to support the child and parent/carer in the management of their sensory processing difficulties
- Provide assessments across settings including home, schools and a clinic observation, producing a report for the person/parent with recommendations
- Where appropriate, provide a comprehensive support plan (such as a sensory diet), ensuring that people (including professionals) who care for the person with sensory processing difficulties are equipped with tools and resources to implement the support plan
- When a support plan is in place, provide timely reviews of the person with sensory processing difficulties, to ensure the support plan is achieving its expected outcomes
- Provide support to early years and education providers to support people during transition between schools/settings
- Deliver training sessions to a wide range of professionals, to include:
o Raising awareness and understanding of the condition and low level assessment and support tools for universal services
o Support for early years and school settings practitioners
o Assessment skills and support tools and resources for Sensory Processing Disorder within targeted services
- Support professionals across health, social care and education with information and advice on sensory processing difficulties

During the contract term, the CCG and provider will regularly review the outcomes of the service to refine the delivery model.

It is the intention that the CCG will undertake a procurement procedure following receipt of expressions of interest in September 2018.

The CCG is keen to test the potential provider market for Sensory Processing Disorder Specialist Assessment and Support Service.
The stated start date within the notice is the intention subject to ratification

The deadline for expressions of interest is 13:00 on Friday 31 August 2018.

It is anticipated that the potential opportunity will be published during August 2018 through the NHS Sourcing e-Procurement portal.
