Description

Marketing Birmingham is the regional strategic marketing partnership and operates the leisure and business tourism programmes, Visit and Meet Birmingham as well as its inward investment programme, Business Birmingham. These programmes promote Birmingham and its wider area.

Project Aims
The survey will monitor hotel performance in terms of capacity, demand and occupancy rates by location and by grade of hotel. The work will provide essential information to:

• Help Marketing Birmingham and partners understand the performance of the hospitality sector, assess the links between occupancy levels and events and marketing campaigns and attract more overnight visitors to the area

• Track progress in achieving key objectives set out in the Visitor Economy Strategy for the Programme Area

• Help the hotel industry and the wider tourism sector to adapt rapidly to any market changes

The project outputs are required to inform Marketing Birmingham's strategy, positioning and tactics in its work to promote and develop the Visitor Economy as required via its Service Level Agreement with Birmingham City Council and West Midlands Growth Company.
