Description

Birmingham City Council (The Council) is looking to engage an interim enterprise architect for a maximum period of 6 months from October 2015. The engagement will be either through a sole trader/Limited company or via an interim recruitment agency.

This role is critical and will act as Birmingham's ICT lead.

This is an exciting role that will contribute significantly to shaping Birmingham City Council's future. You will require excellent communication and stakeholder management to develop and maintain ICT strategy and architecture that is fit for purpose, flexible and future-proof.

To deliver against the significant challenges facing the council, you will support the Council to adapt to a '2 speed' approach to ICT - balancing the needs of Enterprise IT with those of rapid Digital delivery; ensuring that projects and programmes deliver business outcomes on time, to cost and quality, whilst also aligning to the broader IT strategy and direction. To this end, in addition to being well-versed in the traditional disciplines of EA and expert in TOGAF based methodologies, you will also bring experience and an enthusiasm for Agile architecture, focussing on providing the right targeted interventions, methods and tools to ensure 'Just enough' architectural leadership, artefacts and
