Description

The Contractor shall use all reasonable endeavours to achieve the following aims:

a. To provide detailed information on how teachers currently find, access, and assess curriculum resources;
b. To identify whether there are any gaps in the availability of high quality and knowledge rich current curriculum resources, where these gaps lie, how teachers might best prefer these resources to be made available;
c. To identify what materials teachers feel would be beneficial in improving teaching and reducing teacher workload.

The Contractor shall use all reasonable endeavours to achieve the following objectives:

Objective 1: Recruit 20 primary and 20 secondary schools, develop topic guides, and complete 100 semi-structured in-depth interviews of 45-60 minutes in length.
• Schools shall be purposively sampled to reflect a range of characteristics: regions, school size, deprivation levels, location, Ofsted rating, attainment levels and multi-academy trust status.


• One senior leader and one teacher or middle leader to be interviewed at each primary school, one senior leader and two teachers or middle leaders to be interviewed at each secondary school.
• Teachers, middle leaders, and senior leaders shall be purposively sampled to reflect a range of characteristics: length of service in profession, length of service at school, qualifications, key stage (primary teachers and middle leaders), and subject taught (secondary teachers and middle leaders).
Objective 2: Deliver high quality reporting to inform the Department on decisions around the curriculum fund:
• A discussion presentation of findings during the week commencing 07/05/18; and
• A written report presenting interview results for a non-technical audience to be finalised by 31/05/18.
