Description

One in ten young people has some form of diagnosable mental health condition, which is approx. 850,000 children & young people in the UK today. We know that children with a mental health problem face unequal chances in their lives, and that half of all mental health conditions are established before the age of fourteen.
We also know that early intervention can prevent problems escalating and have major societal benefits. There is clear evidence to show that schools can play a vital role in identifying mental health needs at a nearly stage, referring young people to specialist support and working jointly with others to support those experiencing problems. Therefore, it is a Govt. priority to deliver mental health awareness training to all primary and secondary schools across England. This requirement is for the primary schools programme and will be awarded to the organisation/ group of organisations, who can demonstrate their capability to deliver mental health awareness training.

The Department of Health and Social Care ('The Department') plans to release a tender for a service provider to deliver this requirement. The procurement is currently at the pre-tender stage, the purpose of which is to engage service providers providing an opportunity to:-

1. get a clear understanding of what business outcomes the Department requires and ask questions regarding the proposed scope of work.
2. meet representatives of the Department
3. give your views on how to structure the requirement so that it maximises market interest, innovation andvalue for money.

The contract is expected to commence on the 1st October 2018 and expire on the 30 September 2020, with the option to extend annually for a further 2 years based upon service providers performance.

This notice is placed as a prior information notice and relates only to a pre procurement market engagement event. The Department reserves the right to not proceed to tender additionally the Department reserves the right to discontinue the proposed tendering process and not to award the contract.

We are inviting interested parties to come to the Department to learn more about the scope of the contract, and to discuss their ideas on an informal basis.
