Description

Building upon an existing service being delivered as part of a pilot in HMYOI Cookham Wood, MOPAC is looking to commission a provider to support children in HMYOI Feltham (A) who have experienced victimisation.

The primary aims of the pilot will be to:
• Improve the wellbeing of the boys engaged with the service, this should include improving mental health and resilience, thinking skills and attitudes
• Make referrals to services that can provide ongoing support with needs linked to victimisation, helping the boys to cope and recover from their experiences
• Reduce reoffending amongst boys released from Feltham YOI who have engaged with the pilot
• Improve partnership working and information sharing between agencies, particularly with services offering ongoing support for needs linked to victimisation

The supplier will be required to offer three strands of support:
• Trauma-informed mentoring support in the YOI and in the community, specifically aimed at supporting the child with needs linked to their experiences of victimisation, including referrals to services that can provide ongoing victim support.
• Support to upskill staff within the YOI to identify and respond to experiences of trauma and victimisation
• Partnership working to identify and work with organisations across London who can provide ongoing support to address needs linked to victimisation. MOPAC will support with this.
