Description

The Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council requires a chassis mounted Access Platform.
A maximum platform working height of at least 20 metres is a requirement with a safe platform working load of 220kg.
The Access platform is to be mounted on a suitable:
A) A 3500kg chassis (Option A)
OR
B) A 5000kg chassis (Option B)
The vehicle must be fit for the purpose intended and comply with the Newcastle-Under-Lyme Borough Council's specification of requirements. In all cases, full technical specifications of the vehicle must be supplied, to supplement the specification information required below. Any reference in the specification, directly or indirectly, to proprietary equipment is indicative only of the Member's requirements, and is not intended to exclude consideration of any alternative offering equivalent performance, functionality and quality. Where there are named systems or components, similar alternatives of the same or better quality will be considered; it is incumbent on the Tenderer to provide evidence of such equivalence.
The vehicles will undertake a range of duties including arboriculture work, lighting and hanging basket work. Its primary activities will be on ARBORICULTURE activity. This will include accessing trees at height for pruning, dismantling.
Before any award is made under the tender the manufacturer will meet with Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council to ensure the vehicle is fit for the purpose intended.
The vehicle and working platform must be so designed and manufactured so as to conform to current Road Traffic Acts, Construction and Use Regulations, current and proposed Health and Safety Regulations and any other applicable legislation, and be type approved.
