Description
The Contracting Authority gives prior notice of its intention to launch a procurement for the full refurbishment and partial re-modelling of Maydew House, including a roof top extension of an additional five stories incorporating 24 flats for open market sale along with the sale of 32 of the existing 144 flats. Description of Procurement
Maydew House is a 26 storey concrete framed tower block which has been stripped back to the existing frame.
Further to the completion of the Maydew House works demolition of the existing Bede Centre a new block of 87 flats will be constructed on the site, all units for council rent.
Tender Process
This is a two stage tender process. Stage one will is likely to be evaluated 70% price 30% quality .
Prior to commencing the full OJEU process the Contracting Authority is seeking comments from prospective developers/contractors on what they consider to be the most appropriate procurement route and whether exchanging the leases and sales of the 56 flats by discounting the works cost would form part of any offer or just the construction works.
