Description
This notice has been published to facilitate engagement with service providers, capable of delivering Adult Hearing (Audiology) Services for Age Related Hearing Loss (non-complex), to help develop a viable pricing tariff.
Following market engagement and the development of the tariff pricing the commissioners intend to undertake an Any Qualified Provider (AQP) process to commission the service.
The service is a community based, adult hearing assessment service, including hearing aid fitting (where required), follow-up and aftercare services for adults aged 55 or over (18+ in Solihull), with suspected or diagnosed age related hearing loss for the registered population of the Commissioning Organisations ensuring delivery of provision in a variety of hard to reach and rural areas as specified by the commissioner.
Complex audiology services and services for adults under 55 are not covered and must continue to be accessed by GP referral to the appropriate service.
The Adult Hearing Service will consist of:
• Hearing needs assessment
• Development of an Individual Management Plan (IMP)
• Provision and fitting of hearing aids in a suitable environment (quiet, confidential, privacy and dignity);
• Appropriate hearing rehabilitation e.g. patient education;
• Information on and signposting to any relevant communication/social support services;
• Follow-up appointment to assess whether needs have been met;
• Discharge from hearing assessment and fitting pathway;
• Aftercare service including advice, maintenance, repairs or replacement of hearing aids under warranty and review as required to meet the needs of the patient;
• Batteries, tips, domes, wax filters, tube and other consumables replacement service
• Help and support to the housebound

This notice is to help facilitate market engagement to support the development of the service tariff pricing.
If providers are interested in being part of this engagement, they will be required to register on the Midlands and Lancashire CSU (MLCSU) Bravo eProcurement portal.
Providers will be required to complete and submit a questionnaire relating to the service pricing structure by 17:00 on Friday 12th February 2016.
